About ENVR 140
This course explores historical and cultural perspectives on human relationship with the natural world, from prehistory to present, and wrestles with the fundamental question: what is wilderness? The course traces the many ways wilderness has been conceived and perceived and investigates how humans have interacted with it. The course considers how this interaction has been influenced by class, race, and gender amongst other factors. It examines how political, cultural, and economic ramifications of these interactions and the future of wilderness and humanity.

Class Resources
This is my personal website with additional course materials. All assignments, tests, and readings will be located on TritonEd. This site serves as a supplement for section. I will be posting section slides weekly!

Community Guidelines
Technology in NOT allowed in section. Please come to class prepared with readings completed or printed. Additionally, I can not guarantee this space will be  safe space; however I can guarantee it will be a learning space. The things that are said here stay here, but the things that are learned here leave here.

Attendance Policy
Attendance in section is mandatory! Students who miss 3 sections will FAIL section. Students who miss 4 sections will FAIL the course. Maximum of 2 excused absences. A central activity in section will be in class writings, debates, and discussions. Please come prepared with course materials and ready to share.
